• Evocator (Affliction Warlock):

Effective in both PvE grinding and PvP, the affliction warlock will be an all-around versatile build. There are more variations to the affliction warlock then almost any other class out there. Some may go deeper into demology, as seen here, while others will place more points into destruction for a little more upfront damage, as seen here. You'll really have to experiment and find the balance of talents that suit your own personal play style with an affliction oriented warlock.

• Conjurer (Demologist Warlock):

For soloing, questing/leveling, grinding, or 1-on-1 PvP the demologist warlock is an excellent choice. The enhancements to pets are deceptively strong and if you learn to use the proper pet for the situation this warlock is a very difficult opponent to face. While not as many variations as the affliction warlock, there are still a lot of different setups for the demologist. • Diabolist (Destruction Warlock):

Probably the most popular build, the destruction warlock is all about offensive casting. A very effective raiding and large scale PvP warlock, you'll be sacrificing some of you're soloing utility for heavy direct damage. Almost all destruction warlocks augment the destruction tree with affliction, and while there are still a good amount of variations this build can produce, the basic setup can be seen in the title build.

This loot list is dedicated for helping you gear up your warlock as best as possible. This list includes all loot up to, but not including, patch 1.6 items(1.7 coming soon, 1.8 later) end-game content (Molten Core, Onxyia, ect...). The list is split into the following parts:

Warlocks are arguably the least well off class in WoW as of 1.8 and have been the black sheep class for quite some time. Soulshards are the unique "feature" which causes most warlocks grief, along with terribly weak end-life summons (infernal/doomguard). A warlock is about middle-pack when it comes to their life from 1-59. Playing a warlock at end-game is terribly frustrating though, they have all the problems of a neglected pet class (like the pre 1.7 hunter), and all the problems of an end-game caster class (mages will sympathize here). Hopefully warlocks will get their long-neglected review soon and have a more solidified class roll and bring more threat to PvP.

Many warlocks spec down the path of destruction for strong DPS (a properly setup shadowbolt is certainly a whoa! factor, but all to uncommon) so this guide will include a sample +shadowpower build. Those who spec deep into the demonology or affliction will want a more balanced utility build, which is also listed here. You may want to mix and match between these to make a more well-rounded warlock.

Please note: This list is by no means a "warlock's have exclusive rights to this" equip list. Please be considerate of your group members and respect loot rules. Mages and priests will want to roll on many of the items listed here, please be mindful of gear that would most likely better serve them (ie +healing/ +fire/ +ice dmg).

Also please note: Warlocks are one of two classes which I do not have solid play experience with (my warlock is only lvl 30). I will attempt to list here gear which I believe most warlocks will want, and gear that I see the vast majority of warlocks with. Staying power is the name of the game for this build, as is general versitility. We'll be loading up on +INT, +STA, and +SPI to create a huge, fastly recharging mana pool. Although your spells are not as powerful you'll be able to cast them for quite some time.
