Best Action Game - Gears of War (Epic Games)

A questão aqui é: Como Gears of War não ganhar? Gear foi o maior, e o melhor jogo de ação mostrado na E3. O Xbox 360 finalmente está pegando um jogo que utilize todo seu potencial. Gears of War foi a força dominante na E3, e será um Hit assim como Halo foi no seu lançamento.

Best Role-Playing Game - Mass Effect (Bioware)

Mass Effect e um profundo RPG colcoado no tradicional Knights of the Old Republic. Especialmente impressionante a forma qual você interage com os NPC e o fato que você controla sua propria nave espacial.

Best First-Person Shooter - Prey (3D Realms/Human Head)

Se existisse um prêmio para o jogo mais divertido na E3, Pray iria ganhar. Desde que pray foi anunciado para ser um FPS, eu fiquei receoso pois tinha que testar aquilo. O que posso dizer? Pray é divertido de se jogar! A jogabilidade é bem polida.

Best Action/Adventure Game - Dark Messiah of Might & Magic (Ubisoft)

It's not really an RPG or adventure game, but Dark Messiah of Might & Magic is a pretty bad ass little fantasy themed first person shooter. Powered by the Source engine, Dark Messiah delivers cutting edge graphics plus also innovative hack-n-slash style gameplay. Coupled with cool physic effects, Dark Messiah really came out of nowhere and knocked our socks off.

Best Tactical Action Game - Rainbow Six Vegas (Ubisoft)

Ubisoft is taking the tactical action genre to new heights with Rainbow Six Vegas. After digitally recreating the city of Sin, they've populated the town with all sorts of terrorist scum. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas - right? Non-lethal force is for hippies!

Best Action / RPG - Hellgate London (Flagship Studios)

Former Diablo icon Bill Roper is back with a new game with his ex-Blizzard cohorts called Hellgate London. It's a lot like Diablo in the fact that there's a ton of cool random loot to find, but it's set in the near future and has a post-apocalyptic/science fiction feel to it. It has a little of everything for shooter and RPG fans alike.

Best Action/Hybrid Game - BioShock (Irrational)

Another game that doesn't really fit any predefined genre is Irrational's spiritual successor to System Shock, BioShock. It is an action game? An RPG? Adventure game? I dunno! Needless to say it has a little of everything so we gave it our best action/hybrid award for E3.

Best Real-Time-Strategy Game - Supreme Commander (Gas Powered Games)

Speaking of spiritual successors, Chris Taylor has a new game Total Annihilation fans are going to love - Supreme Commander. It might not have the best graphics, but it had the best sense of scale offering up truly epic sci-fi battles on a grandiose level. When you build a really expensive super unit, you know where your money went as you watch it lumber across the screen.

Best Massively Multiplayer Game - Warhammer Online (Mythic)

It might look a lot like World of Warcraft on the outside -- and really has nothing Dark Age of Camelot related on the inside -- but Mythic came to E3 with a new MMORPG called Warhammer Online. Using the storied Warhammer fantasy universe as its premise, Mythic is looking to lure away World of WarCraft fans in 2007.

Best Graphics - Crysis (Crytek)
Wow, just wow. The makers of Far Cry are back with the most visually impressive game of the show. It isn't on any next-gen consoles either as it's a Windows Vista exclusive. The fight on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier against whatever-the-heck-it-was alone was worth coming to E3. If it was actually playable, it would've taken home the best FPS award as well. Well, provided it actually played as good as it looks. Crysis still has a good year or so of development left, so odds are we'll get a much better look at the game at next year's E3. Hopefully, it's be on the floor in playable form for all to enjoy.

Best Expansion Pack - World of WarCraft: The Burning Crusade (Blizzard)
What can I say? Blizzard makes good stuff. New races, new zones, new stuff to hoard. How can millions of rabid WoW fans be wrong? Out of the six million players, I think 1/3rd of them visited during the week to check out the expansion stuff. Anyone who thinks PC gaming is dead should look at our traffic logs for E3.

Best Simulation - Spore (EA)
I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the biggest sim fan, but Spore looks interesting nonetheless. Basically, it's Sim World as you can control what life-forms develop, evolve and rule the world. Spore has a really unique visual look too, which adds to its charm.

Best Multiplayer Game - Quake Wars (Splash Damage)
Multiplayer in Doom 3 and Quake IV really blow. Thankfully, id has re-evaluated some of its gameplay philosophies and entrusted the development of Quake Wars to Enemy Territory developer Splash Damage. It's a lot like Battlefield, but is set in the Quake universe. Multiplayer Quake is back!

Best Booth - NVIDIA
I loved the NVIDIA booth. They had dozens of playable games all running on state-of-the-art hardware. It might not have been the biggest, loudest or flashiest booth, but it was the most fun one to play around in.

Imagem

Best Movie - Halo 3 (Bungie)
Some of you might say "hey, where's MGS?" Sorry, but it was just a little too Japanese for me. It isn't an E3 without giving Bungie a little love, so it had to be done.

Imagem

Best New Game - Aion (NCsoft)
One of the games that came out of nowhere but really impressed me was a new massively multiplayer role playing game called Aion by one of Ncsoft's Korean teams. It's powered by the Crytek engine, features three factions (Angels, demons and dragons) and sports some really cool gameplay features. I really liked how the combat worked, plus dug the characters and gameplay in general.

Imagem

Best Sequel - Unreal Tournament 2007 (Epic Games)
UT 2007 is a really solid overall little product sporting super graphics, advanced AI and just heaps of stimulating gameplay. I wasn't the biggest fan of UT 2003 or 2004, but 2007 looks to go back to the series' roots and aims to make Unreal Tournament fun again for us old timers.

Imagem

Best World War II Game - Company of Heroes (Relic)
I bet you're thinking "Oh joy, another WW2 game!" Well, if you are you'll be pleased to know that we decided to give the second World War it's own little award catagory. I know, I know, everyone's sick to death of it (literally) but Relic's Company of Heroes looked really great. Possibly it's best work since Homeworld. But set in WW2 (cough). Yeah, blame the bean counters at THQ or something...

Imagem

Best New Technology - Windows Vista (Microsoft)
30% increase in game performance? DirectX 10? A true 3D desktop? Sign up me! Windows Vista is going to boost PC gaming to new heights when its released next year. Don't ask what PC games can do for Microsoft, ask what Microsoft can do for PC games.

Imagem

Best of Show - Gears of War (Epic Games)
Was there really any doubt? Gears of War is awesome. It's not just the graphics, or parts of the gameplay, but the overall package. Not that the 360 ever needed a system seller, but if it did, Gears of War is it.
